ICH LIEBE DICH!

Nina Schuiki &
Leon Eixenberger

The title is based upon a chance occurrence; these are the same three words which Miss Müller shouts towards her husband while saying “Write soon!”, which the author understands as a request for him to start writing his novel as soon as possible. The reader is thus confronted with a work-in-progress. During the journey, the work unfolds and the 66 interludes of the novel represent 66 railway stations.

— from the afterword of „Ich liebe Dich! Ein Eisenbahnroman“ by Paul Scheerbart, Berlin 1897

The exhibition of Eixenberger & Schuiki echoes the line of vision between the inoperative Siemensbahn and the housing estates by Hans Scharoun, whereby the artists read the axis as a metaphor of transience against Paul Scheerbart’s eponymous railway novel.
